Preserves the cultural heritage of the UAE and providing knowledge tools to the public.
The library started providing its services to the public in April 1984. The collections of the library have grown to include almost 2 million volumes covering books, periodicals and manuscripts, and more recently electronic materials.

UAEU Zayed Central Library
Located in Al Ain just north of Hamdan bin Mohammad Street and UAEU.

The Zayed Central Library is open to the public. Therefore, Khalifa University students can use the library as walk-ins.
Members of the community can borrow books as registered outside users. Any individual can come to the library’s Circulation Services and establish an account with a payment of a refundable deposit of Dh1000. Borrowers will be subject to the library policy for fines of overdue books and unreturned or lost items.

On a trial basis
Students from Khalifa University may use the on-site resources of ZU libraries. If the students are in Abu Dhabi, please call Mary Sengati-Zimba, Assistant Dean, at 02-5993880 or the reference desk at
02-5993840. You may also e-mail Mary at mary.sengati-zimba@zu.ac.ae
If they are National males the students will need to use the library after 4 p.m.; National females may use the library anytime we are open.
Faculty can use the library with prior notification of day and time. Not allowed to photocopy or borrow material. Need to scan and save on a flash disk.
If you know who the students are, you may contact Mary on their behalf to alert her or the students themselves can contact her regarding a time to come in. You and they may need a general orientation which, again, Mary will be happy to organize for you.
Note: At present students may only use books on site but not borrow books. If we become a member of the LIWA Consortium then our students can borrow books as part of the consortium agreement.
